What we collect, and why
The short version: we use what you tell us to answer you and do the work. Our website also uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to see how the site is used and to show our ads. The details are below.

This policy covers techni-build.com, run by Techni-Build PCs in West Springfield, Massachusetts ("we", "us").
Information you give us
When you fill in one of our forms (contact, custom build quote, repair request, selling an item to us, or asking about something in our inventory), we collect what you enter. That can include:
- your name, email address and phone number
- details about your computer, the problem with it, or the build you want
- your budget, and anything else you write in a message
We use this to reply to you, to quote and carry out the work, and to keep a record of the job. We don't use it for marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Form submissions are saved on our own server and emailed to us through an email delivery service (Resend or Postmark). If our server can't be reached, the form is sent through Formspree instead. These services handle your message only so it can be delivered to us.
Payments
Deposits for custom builds are taken through Square. You enter your card details on Square's checkout page, not ours, and we never see or store your full card number. Square's own privacy notice applies to that payment.
Analytics and advertising
Our website uses two third-party tools that collect information automatically when you visit, using cookies and similar technology:
- Google Analytics, which shows us which pages people visit, how they found us, and roughly where they're browsing from.
- The Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram), which lets us measure how our ads perform and show ads to people who have visited our site.
These tools can receive information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site you came from. They also tell us when certain things happen, such as a form being sent, an inventory item being viewed, or a call, text or email link being tapped. We don't send them what you type into our forms, so your name, email, phone number and message stay with us.
Google and Meta may combine this with other information they hold about you, under their own privacy policies:
Your choices
- Control the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta ad preferences.
- Turn off personalized Google ads in My Ad Center.
- Opt out of Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at aboutads.info.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Other things the site does
- Your browser's storage. The site remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, and whether you closed an announcement banner. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
- Fonts. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when a page loads.
- Security. Our server briefly uses your IP address to limit repeated form submissions and login attempts, which helps keep out spam and abuse.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the services described above, when the law requires us to, or when you ask us to (for example, if we order a part or file a warranty claim for you).
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and job records for as long as we need them to do the work, honor warranties, and keep our business and tax records. If you'd like us to delete your information, just ask and we will, unless we're required to keep it.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
